    Your best bet is to ask your local library. Some library systems and states have online databases with free books. Check with a worker who is knowledgeable about their online resources.

    Those books are protected by copyright law. This means that any online or downloadable copy not authorized by the author and/or publisher, is an illegal copy. Library is your best bet for copyrighted books.
