Does it cost a montly fee for digital reader eBooks?

I don’t want to sound like a dummy but I was thinking about getting a digital reader and was on the Sony site and I seen to the side some additional service plan prices and was wondering if these were costs to have the book or were like warranty prices? Just curious. Thanks.

it all depends on the eBook reader you get. Some of them have wifi and cell phone chips inside so that you can donwload books on the go. You don’t have to use those services if you don’t want, you’ll just have to plug the eBook reading into your PC to download new books.
