I want to write an ebook that consists of poetry, could I do that or do ebooks have to sell information?

No…Ebooks can be about anything. They can be a story, prose or poetry…they could be about information..etc. etc. I myself have read many poetry ebooks and when I find one I download it immediately as I love reading them.

E books are mostly self publishing, so you can write about whatever you want.

Try lulu. It’s free to upload an e-book

Yikes, the person who said E-books is mostly self-publishing is wrong wrong wrong. I **** when ignorant people spread fallacies.

There are tons of e-publishers out there and they publish fiction and non-fiction alike. Some of their books also go to print if enough books are purchased.

    Medallion Press
    Ellora’s Cave
    Samhain Publishing
    Whiskey Creek Press
    Wild Rose Press

These are just a few E-publishers off the top of my head. Also Harlequin has an e-book line, so mainstream publishers are getting into e-Publishing.

The best thing to do is get a current copy of Writer’ Market and find publishers with websites. Check out their websites and look for what they publish - and check if they have e-books.

    Good luck!

No, pretty much any book can be published as an ebook. I suggest you check out your local library’s web site. They probably offer ebooks of all kinds that library patrons can download…I know mine does.
